Guiver and Estment battle to the end of the Motorpoint British Supersport Cup championship

After a tough season of racing the Ace Cafe T3 Racing team have come a long way, from a brand new team with a new rider and a new bike to leading the British Supersport Cup class championship. It’s now all down to the final round and what Rob Guiver can do with the Triumph Daytona 675R Ace Cafe Racer this weekend.

Guiver currently has a staggering lead of 45 points over second place rider Bjorn Estment. Each rider in the Cup class has to drop the points from their three lowest scoring rounds and currently the two riders would draw. Every point counts, and whether they win or score only a point they will lose more points this weekend! Confused - you should be.

What it means for certain is the South African and the Essex boy will be battling until the final second for the title.
Win or lose, the Ace Cafe T3 Racing team will see this season as a great one. The Ace Cafe Racer, built by the team at T3 Racing in Kent, has finished every race apart from one, when Guiver got caught up in another riders accident. They’ve stepped on the podium at nine rounds, won six races and now they’re days away from winning the championship.

Rob Guiver is feeling positive, he said: “We’ve got one hand on the trophy, we’ll do our best this weekend and hopefully that’s good enough. Brands is a circuit I like and I’ve done well at earlier in the season, let’s just hope the weather is OK!”

Team principal, Tony Scott, commented: “It was a tough start to the year for us, but to end up on top is better than we could have hoped for. I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved and the way the bike is riding. All the team believes Rob can do it this weekend but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.”

Luke Jones will be joining the Ace Cafe T3 Racing team for the last round which is also sure to make it a good one. He’s currently 16th in the championship but looking forward to riding a Triumph again. He said:
“I can’t wait to be back with the Tony and the T3 Racing team and back on a Triumph! I tested the bike at Thruxton on Saturday and instantly felt confident on it.”

Guiver and Jones will be racing in the Motorpoint British Supersport sprint race at 16.20 on Saturday and 13.30 on Sunday. For race updates over the weekend like T3 Racing on Facebook or follow @T3Racing on twitter.
