Rob Guiver came 11th, achieving his best overall result of the season in the Motorpoint British Supersport sprint race on Sunday as well as another win in the Cup championship.
Guiver was the fastest Cup rider at Cadwell Park, qualifying 14th for the race. His third win of the season has now extended his lead in the Cup class to 26 points.
It was not an easy race for Guiver, only 16 riders finished the hair raising track and two fell in front of him. The race was red flagged at lap 11 when Bjorn Estment crashed into the barrier, but luckily no one was badly injured.
Tony Scott commented: “All I have to say is tortoise and the hare! We’ve worked hard this season and it’s good to see it paying off. I said from the beginning we Rob could achieve a top twelve finish and after seeing him today I definitely think we can achieve a top ten by the end of the season!
“It’s a shame Dixon’s not here and we wish him well. I know that Rob would much rather to beat him on the track. But with Bjorn out of today’s race as well it’s given us some great points to consolidate our lead in the championship.”
Team Manager, Ricky Chadwick, was also please with Guiver’s performance:
“It’s fantastic to get our best result of the season! I predicted we could do top ten today and we were so close. The best thing is seeing Rob believing in himself and the bike.”
